Description:
Annual or short-lived perennial herb, growing from a taproot. Stems branching from the base, spreading or ascending up to 80 cm high. Young stems appressed or spreading hairy. Leaves with 2-4(5) pairs of leaflets decreasing in size towards the base of the leaf, terminal ones 15-35 mm long, obovate-oblanceolate o sometimes elliptic, hairless above, greyish appressed hairy beneath; stipules linear, 5-8 mm long. Flowers solitary or paired in the leaf axils, pink to purple. Pod linear-oblong, 46-64 mm, curved upwards at the tip, loosely appressed or ascending hairy. Seeds 9-14.

Derivation of specific name: uniflora: one-flowered
Habitat: In mopane woodland, mixed woodland, on rocky outcrops and open disturbed ground.
Flowering time:
Worldwide distribution: Cape Verde Islands, from Senegal to Nigeria, Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Somalia, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Angola, Namibia and Limpopo, South Africa.
