Description:
Much-branched shrub, creeping or ascending to 3 m tall. Leaves coriaceous, petiolate; lamina elliptic to oblong; apex rounded to obtuse. Upper leaf surface matt with characteristic venation, the lateral nerves closely spaced, angled at almost 90° to the midrib and running to the margin and joined in a neatly scalloped submarginal vein. Inflorescence of 1-3-flowered cymes at ends of branches. Flowers white, sweet-scented. Calyx 4-5 mm long with linear lobes, densely ferrugineous appressed-pubescent. Corolla tube 7-10 mm long; lobes 1-1.5 times as long as the tube, narrowly obovate. Fruit up to 5 cm in diameter, subspherical.
