Description: |
Small deciduous tree. Bark fissured and corky, dark grey to brown. Leaves deeply 5-lobed but not divided, up to 12 × 20 cm, hairless, shiny green, turning golden yellow in autumn; margin serrate-dentate; petiole up to 30 cm. Flowers small, greenish-yellow, borne in terminal clusters of cylindric spikes up to 15 cm long. Fruit borne along the spikes, spherical, c. 6 mm in diameter, fleshy, purple when ripe. |
