Corolla funnel-shaped or campanulate, lobes 5. Ovary 1-locular, with 2 parietal placentas. Fruit spherical or ellipsoid. Seeds very numerous, fused into a pulpy solid mass. Derivation of name: for Georg (Jöran) Johansson Rothman, 1739-1778, Swedish Botanist, physician and plant collector. Worldwide: 40 species in tropical and South Africa, Seychelles and Malay Peninsula. Botswana: 1 taxon. |
