Phyllaries 4-seriate, usually ovate; margin membranous. Pappus of 1 lateral, broad, membranous scale, or a membranous cup or a toothed crown or 0. Derivation of name: after Hendrik Christian Pentz, 1738–1803, Swedish plant collector. Worldwide: 23 species, mostly in southern Africa; 2 in North Africa (Morocco and Algeria) Botswana: 1 taxon. |
