Small slender-stemmed shrubs. Leaves digitately 3-foliolate, petiolate; stipules inconspicuous or absent, caducous. Flowers small, in short terminal or leaf-opposed racemes; bracts and bracteoles small. Calyx shorter than the corolla, 2-lipped, the upper lip bifid, the lower trifid; standard pale yellow, oblong to subcircular, sharply reflexed, auriculate; claw well developed, with calluses at the apex; keel slightly shorter than the standard, rounded at the apex. Fruit a pod, pointing upwards, narrowly oblong to linear, dehiscent, 1–8-seeded. Seeds rounded to very shortly oblong, with a small hilar sinus on the short side. Worldwide: Five species in southern Africa. Botswana: 1 taxon. |
