Young flower buds bright pink to reddish-purple, up to 10 cm long. Flowers terminal on short branchlets which tend to be reddish in colour. Large 2 horned pod with white streaks (made up of many lenticels?). No leaves on plant. Bark smooth with distinct lenticels, purplish grey.
