Description: |
Densely caespitose perennial with short oblique rhizome; culms up to 120 cm tall, erect; lowermost leaf sheaths persistent, chartaceous; leaf laminas 3–15(20) cm × 1–5 mm, the lowermost flat, the uppermost involute.Inflorescence up to 20 cm long, often partially embraced below by the uppermost leaf sheath, comprising (6)8–25 scattered racemes, these 6–16 cm long, slender, less than their own length apart on a rhachis c. 0.4 mm wide.Spikelets 2–3 mm long; lemma 1.1–1.4 mm long, elliptic to ovate-elliptic, glabrous; palea glabrous. |
