Description: |
Tufted perennial grass, up to 1 m. Inflorescence digitate in 3-8 racemes, up to 16 cm long. Spikelets narrowly lanceolate with bristly awns up to 2 cm. Superior glume 0.1–0.5 mm. long, obtuse to acute. Inferior lemma entire, the awn 5–20 mm. long, rarely shorter on some of the spikelets. Superior floret dark brown. |
