Description:	Aquatic herb, exserted to 60 cm above water level. Stems decumbent. Leaves: lamina c.8 × 1.2 cm, linear-acuminate, glabrous; basal part sheathing. Flowers opening in morning for a short period. Inflorescence of several to many 1-sided, dense, short cymes and reduced thyrses. Petals 3, unequal; upper two c.3-4 mm, ovate, lower linear. Stamens: 3 lower longer, declinate, connectives narrow; 3 upper shorter, connective broad, square and yellow. Capsule c.2 mm.
