Description:
Parasitic shrub. Leaves mostly opposite, leathery, mostly hairless, dull green to blue-green, lanceolate to ovate-elliptic, 3-9 cm long. Flowers in 1-several axillary 2-4-flowered umbels; corolla tube 3.5-4.5 cm long, red with whitish spots; heads of buds yellowish to greenish-white, darkening.
Notes: Most commonly found growing on Acacia spp. and Combretum spp. but also found on many other trees.
Derivation of specific name: oleifolius: with leaves like an olive (Olea sp.).
Habitat: In a variety of drier habitats.

Worldwide distribution: Widespread in the drier parts of southern Africa, extending from coastal Mozambique through the Zambezi basin to Angola and South Africa
