Description: |
Small parasitic shrub with spreading stems up to 1 m. Branchlets tomentose with coarse stellate hairs. Leaves clustered on short shoots, oblong-elliptic or slightly ovate or obovate, stellate pubescent on both surfaces. Flowers in loose, candelabra-like, terminal inflorescences, arising from a tuft of leaves. Corolla 4-5 cm, greenish-yellow, sometimes tinged orange or with red inside, stellate tomentose and with longer hairs. Berry blue-green, 10-12 mm including the calyx, pubescent; seed orange to red. This species may be confused with E. ngamicum in leaf, but is distinguished by the pedicellate flowers, the longer hairs on the corolla, and blue fruits. |
