Description:
Branching semi-prostrate fleshy annual herb. Stems slightly succulent, up to c. 50 cm long. Leaves (sub)opposite or alternate by reduction, narrowly elliptic or elliptic-oblong, 7-23 mm long, slightly succulent. Flowers solitary, sessile, pink to purple, greenish on the outside. Perianth segments united in the basal half, narrowly triangular, with a dorsal apiculus, 1-2 mm long, from just below the apex. Fruit pointed, thickened in the lower part. Seeds with transverse wrinkles.
