Description: |
Usually a multi-stemmed shrub up to 3 m tall, rarely a small tree. Thorns in pairs at the nodes, slender, straight, 3-6 cm long. Leaves long and narrow, up to 21 cm long; pinnae 15-35 pairs with 20-30 pairs of closely set small leaflets, greyish-green, finely velvety; petiole with a raised gland at the base. Flowers in series of axillary spherical heads on the new growth, whitish, often appearing as suberect terminal inflorescences. Pods slender, up to 18 × 0.8 cm, curved, hairless, dehiscent. |
