Description:	Prostrate to erect annual herb, growing from a taproot. Stems much-branched, yellowish-green, angular, ribbed, sparsely to densely whitish strigose with appressed hairs. Leaves pinnate with 3-9 leaflets; terminal leaflet narrowly lanceolate to elliptic-oblong, 12-50 mm long, strigose hairy on both surfaces; lateral leaflets often smaller; petiole 2-26 mm long; rhachis usually prolonged 1-13 mm beyond lateral leaflets. Stipules lanceolate-subulate, 1-5 mm long, more or less erect. Raceme 3-12 cm long, with a peduncle 0.5-2.5 mm long. Corolla 3.5-5.3 mm long, orange-carmine to red, whitish strigose on the back of the standard and the distal margin of the keel. Pod reflexed, curved, 18-36 mm, sparsely strigose.

Habitat:	In mopane, Baikiaea, Terminalia or Acacia mixed woodland and wooded grassland on Kalahari sands and in sandy areas by seasonally inundated pans, dambos, rivers and lake margins.
