Description: |
An erect, somewhat fleshy perennial herb up to 30 cm high, growing from elongate or ellipsoid, smooth, red, tubers; stems reddish-tinged, hairless below, pubescent above, rarely all hairless. Leaves irregularly pinnatipartite, 2–12 cm long, thinly textured, usually hairless, rarely sparingly puberulous towards the base, blueish-green; lobes with margins hyaline, lobulate, serrate or entire; lateral veins often indistinct; stipules simple, setaceous-filiform, bifid or trifid with filiform segments, c. 2 mm long, eglandular. petioles 1–8 mm long. Inflorescences terminal, up to 3 cm long; bracts lanceolate, 2–5 mm long, minutely toothed to subentire. Male flowers with petals creamy-white, up to 5.5 mm long; female flowers with petals white or pinkish, 6-8 mm long. Fruit depressed-globose, shallowly 3-lobed, 10–12 mm in diameter, very shallowly tuberculate, hairless. |
