Description: |
Annual or short-lived perennial herb, up to 60 cm high. Stems hairless, somewhat woody at the base. Leaves mostly as floral bracts, opposite, Linear-lanceolate,up to 5.5 cm long but mostly much smaller; margin usually with a few minute teeth especially near the apex. Flowers axillary and in 3-branched umbels forking many times; primary rays branch-like up to 15 cm long. Bracts leaf-like. Cyathia subsessile, 1.7 × 2 mm; involucres cup-shaped, hairless or with a few short appressed hairs around the top; glands 4, elliptic; lobes 0.5 mm long, triangular, ciliate. Capsule c. 3.5 mm long, obtusely 3-lobed, usually sparsely covered with short appressed hairs, especially in the upper half, exserted on a curved pedicel.Seeds oblong-rectangular, flattened, grey with a distinctly verrucose surface. |
