Description:	Shrub or small tree. Leaves elliptic-oblong to ovate, up to c. 9.5 cm long, distinctly asymmetric at the base, green to grey-green and more or less hairy above, covered in dense silvery-white velvety hairs below; margins irregularly toothed. Flowers in terminal and axillary clusters, yellow, c. 1.5 cm in diameter. Fruits 1-2-lobed, 7-10 mm in diameter, yellow to red when ripe.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name:	monticola: mountain-loving; so-called because the species was described from specimens collected in the Magaliesberg.
Habitat:	In open woodland and riverine fringes.

Worldwide distribution:	Botswana, Namibia, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa.
