Description: |
Shrubby perennial herb. Stems covered in yellowish stellate and simple hairs. Leaves, up to 8 × 8 cm, ovate to almost round in outline, usually deeply 3-5-lobed with narrowly oblong-lanceolate lobes, strigose above, stellate-hairy below; margin coarsely serrate; petiole up to 3.5 cm long. Flowers solitary, axillary, up to 1.5-2 cm in diameter, red. Epicalyx of 6-7 bracts, 2-4 mm long, narrowly linear. Calyx up to 9 mm long; lobes narrowly triangular, 7-8 mm long, stellate hairy. Fruit a subspherical capsule, c. 9 × 10 mm, velvety. Seeds smooth and hairless or minutely pubescent. |
