Description: |
Perennial herb, up to 25 cm high, with ascending annual stems arising from a small tuber; milky sap present. Leaves subsessile linear, 2-7 cm long, pubescent. Flowers in axillary, 6–10-flowered umbels on peduncles 4-20 mm long, pubescent on one side only.Corolla dirty white or greyish with a very short, shallowly bowl-shaped tube and narrowly lanceolate lobes 4-5 mm long, erect and spreading-recurved at the tips, hairless outside, finely papillate inside. Corona-lobes erect, very slender, slightly longer than the corolla lobes. Fruit a usually solitary fusiform follicle 40-60 mm long. |
