Description:	See var. suffruticosa for general description. This variety is distinguished by being much more densely hairy, especially on the inflorescences. The plant is usually more robust with larger leaves.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name:	suffruticosa: a suffrutex, shrubby plant, woody at the base, regrowing annually from a strong perennial underground base. hirsutissima: very densely hairy.
Habitat:	It is often found on Kalahari sand and serpentine soil.
Flowering time:	Oct - Mar
Worldwide distribution:	Angola, Botswana, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
