Description:
Annual herb with semi-erect or decumbent stems, up to 45 cm. Leaves sessile, opposite or alternate, linear to linear-lanceolate. Inflorescence with flowers crowded near the apex, developing into a long spike, up to 30 cm. Flowers deep blue.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: longispicata: with a long spike, referring to the elongated mature inflorescences.
