| Description: |
Erect, decumbent or prostrate perennial or subshrub, 10-50 cm tall. Leaves ovate, lanceolate or elliptic, pinnately veined with 3-5 veins. Inflorescence consisting of axillary, unilateral spikes 1.5-4.5 cm long. Sterile bracts falcate, in two divergent rows, green, turning brown; fertile bracts appressed to the calyx. Corolla pale blue to mauve or white with purple markings on lower lip and throat. Posterior (shorter) stamens 1-thecous or with a vestigial second theca; thecae glabrous. Capsule 7-10 mm long with face oblong-elliptic, potentially 4-seeded. |
