Description: |
Erect, procumbent or trailing annual herb with stems up to 75 cm long. Leaves linear to narrowly ovate-elliptic, 5-17 cm long, almost hairless or roughly hairy along the midrib below; margin on some leaves at least with some teeth near the base, others entire. Flowers in capitate or somewhat elongate heads, usually near the base of the stems. Bracts lanceolate to ovate-elliptic, 1-7 cm long, usually with numerous capitate glands, with 3-7 spiny bristles on the margin. Corolla pale to dark or mauve, 17-26 mm long; lip obovate, 7-13 mm wide, distinctly 3-lobed, with scattered capitate glands below, central narrower than side lobes. |
