Description:	Erect, branched perennial herb, up to c. 80 cm tall. Leaves opposite, lower leaves more or less broadly ovate, often more narrowly lanceolate-elliptic higher on the stems, mostly hairless above, thinly hairy below. Flowers in terminal spikes, yellow, held in overlapping green bracts covered in long spreading hairs.
