Description:	Annual herb with prostrate to sub-erect stems up to 30 cm long. Leaves opposite, narrowly elliptic, up to 2.5 cm long, sparsely scabrid hairy above, on the margins and sometimes beneath. Stipule sheath 0.5-3 mm long with 3-5 small fimbriae. Flowers both as single flowers in the axils and as more pedunculate inflorescences, often together at the same nodes. In this variety the pedunculate inflorescences are also single-flowered. Corolla white, often tinged blue pink or purple. Capsule ovoid up to c. 2.2 × 2.8 mm, the beak scarcely raised.
