Description:
Multi-stemmed shrub, rarely a small tree. Leaves opposite or in whorls of 3, lanceolate or narrowly elliptic with about 6 pairs of distinct lateral veins, glabrous except for hairs on the mid-rib and veins below. Stipules with 3-5 apical bristles. Flowers in dense terminal heads, white to greenish-white, corolla tube with long yellowish hairs in the throat. Calyx conspicuous, asymmetrical, saucer-shaped. Fruit obconical, ribbed crowned by the enlarged calyx lobes.
