| Description: |
Shrub or small tree. Leaves opposite, oblanceolate, obovate to elliptic, up to 15 cm long, hairless with more or less parallel lateral veins slightly sunken above; domatia absent; margin entire. Flowers in lax, branched axillary inflorescences, small, white to pale creamy-yellow. Fruit round, slightly ribbed, c. 6 mm long, yellow to orange-red when ripe. See P. mahonii for differences. This is one of the main pioneer species in the understorey of secondary montane forest. |
