Description: |
Perennial up to 30 cm high, with long trailing stolons up to 2 m long, rooting copiously at each node and ending in an inflorescence; culm 3-angled, smooth. Leaves up to 21 cm long, spread along the flowering stem. Inflorescence capitate or simple. Although variable the species can be identified by the presence of leaves on the flowering stem. var. uniceps: Glumes dark brown to black |
