Description: |
Herbaceous climber with long stems growing from a large, fleshy, underground tuber. Leaves variable, deeply 3-5 lobed or even 3-5-foliolate, up to 18 cm long and wide, lobes/leaflets narrow or wide, entire or more or less deeply lobed again, thinly textured to leathery, grey-green, often much paler below; petiole 1-9 cm long; 2 glands at the base of the leaf 0.5-1,5 mm wide on two separate auricles 1-2 mm wide. Inflorescences axillary, few-flowered, often ending in a curled tendril. Fruits fleshy, ellipsoid to spherical, green, sometimes with pale yellowish stripes, orange-yellow when ripe. |
