This subspecies is distinguished by the lower surface of the leaves being shortly hairy on the reticulation and the areolae. Young leaves are not glutinous and petals are ciliate at the apex.
Notes: Not listed for Botswana in Flora Zambesiaca 4 (1978) and only listed as possibly occurring in Botswana in Setshogo 2005: 47.

Habitat: In Baikiaea woodland on kalahari sand and mopane woodland.
Flowering time:
Worldwide distribution: Known from Zimbabwe, Namibia and Angola. Doubtfully listed for Botswana and Mozambique.
