Description: |
Shrublet up to 1 m tall, hairless and without latex; stems with paired raised lines, olive-green when young, becoming quadrangular and reddish-purple. Leaves sub-opposite or alternate, lanceolate to oblong-elliptic, 3-5.5 cm long, glossy deep green above, paler dull green beneath; margin entire; petiole 1-2 mm long; stipules very small but persistent. Flowers solitary, axillary, bisexual, 6-8 mm in diameter, yellowish-green; pedicels 5-8 mm long. Disk convex with 5-lobed margin; style shortly pyramidal. Fruit globose, 2.6-3 cm in diameter, smooth, pale orange to red when ripe. |
